Course Overview

In this 8-week self-study, Mulesoft training course which is designed to aid developers and architects can get hands-on experience using the Platform to build APIs and integrations. In the first part, students will be getting to use the Anypoint Platform discover, consume, design, build, deploy, manage, and govern APIs. In the second part, they will be focussing mainly on how to use Mule and Anypoint Studio to build applications for use as API implementations and/or integrations. The pace and technical nature will be quite challenging and therefore make sure that you meet the prerequisites and make sure you are comfortable in committing to study for at least 2-4 hours per week for 8 weeks.

Some of the objectives of the course are

1. Build an application network by using API-led connectivity and Anypoint Platform
2. Use Anypoint Exchange as a central repository for the discovery and reuse of assets
3. Use flow designer to build apps that consume assets and connect systems
4. Use API designer to define APIs with RAML, the RESTful API Modeling Language
5. build and debug integrations and API implementations and integrations
6. Connect to databases, files, web services, SaaS applications, JMS queues, and more
7. Transform data using DataWeave, the powerful transformation language
8. Add application logic and handle errors
9. Structure applications to facilitate development and deployment
10. Handle batch data processing
11. Deploy API implementations and integrations to CloudHub
12. Use API Manager to create and deploy API proxies that govern access to APIs

Some of the Prerequisites that are needed to take up the course are

Experience with Java (preferred) or another object-oriented language
A basic understanding of data formats such as XML, CSV, and JSON
A basic understanding of typical integration technologies such as HTTP, JMS, JDBC, REST, and SOAP

Students from .NET and other non-Java OOP backgrounds can be successful using the Mulesoft technologies and there some Java knowledge can be necessary to leverage all the capabilities of MuleSoft products
